What Threads Archive does

Threads Archive helps you connect your Threads account, import your own Threads posts and replies, search them locally, inspect raw API payloads, and export or delete your local archive.

Where your archive is stored

Your imported Threads posts, replies, raw payloads, search data, and exported archive data are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Threads Archive does not store your archive content in a central server database.

What the server handles

The server handles Threads OAuth, stores an encrypted HTTP-only session cookie in your browser, and proxies authenticated requests to the Threads API. Threads content may pass through the server only to fulfill your request, but it is not retained server-side.

Analytics

Threads Archive uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, such as page views, browser information, approximate location, and referral source. Threads Archive does not send your Threads archive content, search queries, raw API payloads, or browser-local archive data to Google Analytics.

Deleting your data

Use the in-app “Delete local archive” action to remove archive data from your browser. Use “Disconnect” to clear the app session cookie. You can also clear site data for threads-archive.com in your browser settings.

Limitations

Because the archive is browser-local, clearing browser site data or switching devices can remove access to your archive unless you export a backup first.
